  • 0:00 | Korea’s top dash cam brand is here with
  • 0:02 | a powerful 4K dual Channel card DVR with
  • 0:05 | all the bells and whistles to be one of
  • 0:07 | 2024’s best but is it let’s
  • 0:21 | expect right we’re going to talk about
  • 0:24 | dash cams today but before I get any
  • 0:26 | further with testing and footage
  • 0:28 | analysis and everything else
  • 0:30 | I want to share a few facts first of all
  • 0:32 | this here is made by the company F view
  • 0:35 | which is the leading Manufacturing in
  • 0:37 | its domestic Market South Korea secondly
  • 0:41 | we talk about a dual Channel setup
  • 0:43 | meaning that we have a front in the rear
  • 0:45 | unit which is covering pretty much
  • 0:47 | everything happening in front and behind
  • 0:50 | your vehicle and thirdly find you
  • 0:53 | promise a lot of interesting AI
  • 0:55 | Integrations so that they improve the
  • 0:58 | overall experience and make this dash
  • 1:01 | camera as safe as possible and as usual
  • 1:04 | my task here to thoroughly inspect and
  • 1:06 | figure out which are the strong but also
  • 1:08 | the weak sides and help you to decide
  • 1:10 | whether the GX 4K by fine view is the
  • 1:13 | right fit for you f view has launched
  • 1:17 | the GX 4K with a price tack of close to
  • 1:19 | $350 which makes it a more affordable
  • 1:22 | Choice than the top models by domestic
  • 1:24 | Brands such as black View and thinkware
  • 1:27 | and quite close to the price of the
  • 1:29 | Chinese voo and didd Pi’s best offerings
  • 1:33 | given the promising Hardware
  • 1:34 | specifications and the really nice
  • 1:36 | design I do have quite high expectations
  • 1:39 | already so unboxing good pack a brief
  • 1:42 | thank you message and this is the front
  • 1:44 | unit already just a side note given the
  • 1:47 | fact that many people would have this
  • 1:49 | one as their first dash camera I feel
  • 1:51 | that including the user guide at the top
  • 1:53 | makes good sense it will help a lot of
  • 1:56 | people to avoid some rookie mistakes so
  • 1:58 | apparently nice and slim design on the
  • 2:01 | front unit two physical buttons about
  • 2:03 | switching on and off the mic or
  • 2:05 | emergency recording and the Wi-Fi
  • 2:07 | controls there has a QR plate the power
  • 2:10 | in the rear dash camera ports the micro
  • 2:12 | SD card slot which is backed by an on
  • 2:14 | and off switch which continues to be my
  • 2:16 | favorite dash cam feature ever because
  • 2:18 | you can terminate the operation of the
  • 2:19 | dash cam without disconnecting it from
  • 2:22 | the power something I’ve seen only with
  • 2:24 | fine view thus far as for the rest of
  • 2:26 | the components there’s the rear module
  • 2:28 | it is a 1080 P camera also with
  • 2:31 | adjustable angle you’re going to receive
  • 2:33 | a hardwire kit as part of the assembly
  • 2:36 | there’s a back with the micro SD card
  • 2:38 | reader and cable fixes and then you get
  • 2:41 | to see the user guide concerning the
  • 2:43 | geeky side of this review a quick
  • 2:46 | specification walk through shows that
  • 2:47 | the main unit is equipped with a Sony
  • 2:49 | starvis image sensor a dual core
  • 2:51 | processor 136° front and 143° rear field
  • 2:56 | of view support for up to 256 GB micro
  • 2:59 | SD cards comes with the Innovative
  • 3:01 | parking mode with AI temperature control
  • 3:03 | and up to
  • 3:05 | 98% power savings there’s an inbu GPS
  • 3:08 | super capacitor setup instead of a
  • 3:10 | battery dual bound Wi-Fi for smartphone
  • 3:12 | app connectivity and a three-year
  • 3:14 | international
  • 3:16 | warranty all of the specs so far sound
  • 3:19 | really promising however now for the
  • 3:21 | front units fine view are deploying the
  • 3:24 | IMX 515 image sensor which yes a very
  • 3:27 | good one Sony made part of the the
  • 3:30 | starvis line which is known for
  • 3:31 | excellent performance with dash cameras
  • 3:33 | however belongs to its first generation
  • 3:35 | we already have the second one and there
  • 3:37 | are dash camera models equipped with
  • 3:40 | units from the second generation still
  • 3:42 | the preliminary results delivered by GX
  • 3:45 | 4K are very promising despite the fact
  • 3:48 | it has an all winner system Ono chip on
  • 3:50 | the inside I’m not a big fan of these
  • 3:53 | however they offer excellent reliability
  • 3:56 | I feel that most of the attention that
  • 3:58 | find you have in regard to this dash
  • 4:00 | camera is about reliability and safety
  • 4:03 | no batteries involved it it is powered
  • 4:06 | by a super capacitor and it has AI
  • 4:10 | thermal control meaning that it’s super
  • 4:13 | suitable for hot climate areas the
  • 4:16 | parking monitoring has also been refined
  • 4:18 | you have a few choices uh something that
  • 4:20 | you can select and configure throughout
  • 4:21 | the smartphone app and they promise that
  • 4:25 | it is quite safe about exhausting your
  • 4:28 | car’s battery something that was kind of
  • 4:31 | problematic with certain other
  • 4:32 | competitive units I have lately tested
  • 4:35 | here on the channel also reliable
  • 4:38 | Adas and a lot of other little things
  • 4:42 | which tend to improve the overall user
  • 4:44 | experience a lot on the other hand
  • 4:47 | installation was a bit of a challenge
  • 4:50 | well takes a bit of time but once you do
  • 4:52 | it it’s going to be a very reliable
  • 4:55 | solution let me show you well the
  • 4:57 | biggest challenge here is installing the
  • 4:59 | h wire kit concerning the front module
  • 5:02 | itself there’s nothing you should worry
  • 5:04 | about in fact that’s a missed
  • 5:06 | opportunity fine view do not include a
  • 5:08 | screen f for installation something that
  • 5:11 | has become a standard for dash cameras
  • 5:13 | in the last year or so find a good spot
  • 5:16 | on the windshield should be within the
  • 5:17 | reach of the wipers and not disturbing
  • 5:19 | you while we drive then plug the
  • 5:22 | connectors use this little cable clips
  • 5:24 | and guide the power supply towards your
  • 5:26 | fuse box now the not so fun part is that
  • 5:30 | you need to find two kinds of fuses in
  • 5:32 | order to link it to such one with
  • 5:35 | constant power and such one that gets
  • 5:37 | power while the engine is on a
  • 5:39 | multimeter is going to come handy and if
  • 5:42 | you feel uncomfortable with the
  • 5:44 | procedure just visit a car electrician
  • 5:46 | or buy yourself one of these cigar
  • 5:48 | lighter adapters this won’t let you use
  • 5:50 | the parking mode however the rear module
  • 5:53 | is quite easy to install and the angle
  • 5:56 | easily adjustable so that’s more or less
  • 5:58 | everything you have to do if you wonder
  • 6:00 | whether fine-tuning certain parameters
  • 6:02 | inside the smartphone app are about to
  • 6:04 | bring improvements well hardly any yeah
  • 6:07 | you can Che up the recording resolution
  • 6:09 | the bit rate the exposure most of the
  • 6:11 | cor picture controls are available but
  • 6:14 | the footage looks great even as it is in
  • 6:17 | Auto settings by default to me really
  • 6:21 | important and interesting are the
  • 6:22 | parking mode settings you can base
  • 6:24 | parking surveillance on motion detection
  • 6:26 | on time-lapse or the power saving
  • 6:29 | feature which is the further improv
  • 6:31 | time-lapse option consuming the
  • 6:33 | remarkable
  • 6:34 | 0.06 Watts which basically eliminates
  • 6:37 | any kind of concerns that you may have
  • 6:39 | in regard to draining your car’s battery
  • 6:41 | if you go for any of the other modes you
  • 6:44 | can still rely on the low voltage cut
  • 6:46 | off plus the extra option for earlier
  • 6:48 | cut off during the winter when the
  • 6:49 | temperatures are lower this is by far
  • 6:52 | the most advanced parking mode controls
  • 6:55 | I’ve ever seen on a dash cam to date and
  • 6:57 | of course the culmination of this view
  • 6:59 | is expectedly the image quality there is
  • 7:02 | no doubt that daytime footage is superb
  • 7:05 | bright crisp with good dynamic range a
  • 7:08 | lot of details 4K resolution with h265
  • 7:11 | encoding means that you can fit a lot
  • 7:12 | more details in smaller file sizes as
  • 7:15 | compared to the traditional h264
  • 7:17 | encoding I hereby confirm that if we get
  • 7:20 | the image side by side with the famous
  • 7:22 | black View Dr 970x I feel that we see a
  • 7:25 | very minor difference between both I can
  • 7:28 | for sure comment on the noise reduction
  • 7:30 | feature which seems to slightly blur
  • 7:33 | details should the noise of remote
  • 7:35 | objects become too obvious and I’d blame
  • 7:38 | this on the all- winner chipset inside
  • 7:40 | as for the low light performance it is
  • 7:43 | in fact better than what I expected of
  • 7:45 | course having a Sony starvis image
  • 7:47 | sensor means good low light performance
  • 7:49 | and given the fact that there already is
  • 7:50 | a second generation of these sensors
  • 7:52 | with lar scale and further improved
  • 7:54 | sensitivity we know that some other
  • 7:56 | models equipped with such may do slight
  • 7:59 | ly better at nighttime but I certainly
  • 8:02 | feel that the GX 4K delivers top-notch
  • 8:05 | image quality which is on par with a
  • 8:07 | high standards for the image quality
  • 8:09 | that fine view have always
  • 8:12 | had microphone testing this is the
  • 8:15 | quality of the wow I’m driving with 80
  • 8:18 | km/ hour it’s pretty much the top speed
  • 8:20 | supposed to be here and these guys
  • 8:23 | pretty fast anyway you now have an idea
  • 8:26 | what’s the microphone quality of the 5
  • 8:28 | viu G X
  • 8:31 | 4K good are we ready to talk about the
  • 8:34 | drawbacks now well there are such after
  • 8:37 | all but luckily none of them seem to be
  • 8:39 | a deal breaker I’d love to see both
  • 8:41 | sides of the cables to be L-shaped
  • 8:44 | because they ain’t there’s no 4G or
  • 8:47 | Cloud option for keeping the dash camera
  • 8:48 | connected Via mobile network 24/7 the
  • 8:51 | lack of screen folios in the pack and
  • 8:54 | the need to buy an optional cigar
  • 8:56 | lighter kit should you prefer not to use
  • 8:58 | a hard wire that’s it in my
  • 9:01 | opinion in the end I’m really pleased
  • 9:04 | with the overall pack delivered by F
  • 9:07 | view because the GX 4K is extremely
  • 9:10 | reliable apparently has excellent image
  • 9:13 | quality obviously not the top in class
  • 9:15 | but certainly among the best out there
  • 9:17 | uh it has almost the perfect smartphone
  • 9:20 | app and also all these little things
  • 9:22 | such as the thermal management which
  • 9:24 | make me think that if fine view have
  • 9:27 | deployed Sony staris two image sensor on
  • 9:30 | the inside that was about to be the best
  • 9:32 | dash camera of the first half of 2024
  • 9:36 | but even as it is I think it’s a perfect
  • 9:38 | choice for most of you given the fact
  • 9:41 | that its price point is pretty much
  • 9:44 | matching the Chinese competitors and the
  • 9:46 | reliability here is great I feel that
  • 9:48 | it’s going to satisfy a lot of you who
  • 9:50 | are concerned about certain quality or
  • 9:53 | data Integrity issues with Chinese
  • 9:56 | models so that’s my take on the GX 4K
  • 9:59 | and in case you have questions or you
  • 10:01 | want to share about your opinion I
