- 0:36 | model this gu this rear view mirror uh
- 0:39 | seems to be quite a successful one and
- 0:41 | this seems to be their first entirely
- 0:44 | Standalone Cur VR uh 4K video resolution
- 0:48 | for the front unit three Channel setup
- 0:51 | and a lot of promising specifications
- 0:53 | and my task here is to explore
- 0:56 | everything that you need to know in
- 0:57 | advance whether you’re about to buy it
- 0:59 | or just want to be in the loop about the
- 1:01 | latest kind of Technologies I’ll be
- 1:03 | performing my usual kind of testing a
- 1:05 | lot of examples row footage side by-side
- 1:07 | comparisons has mentioned everything you
- 1:10 | need to know about the wolfbox X5 let’s
- 1:13 | begin daytime samples they’re actually
- 1:16 | interesting the front module supports 4K

- 3:35 | with infrared LEDs which is typical
- 3:38 | approach by most vendors and still at
- 3:40 | dark it remains effective so definitely
- 3:43 | a strong start but we’re here for the
- 3:46 | whole picture therefore let’s get to see
- 3:49 | the details about the design and the
- 3:50 | build quality as the next thing this is
- 3:52 | the retail box a nice pack indeed some
- 3:55 | good information to begin with some
- 3:57 | weird slogans as well the main module
- 4:01 | rather big a bit bigger than a GoPro it
- 4:04 | hosts the front camera as well as the
- 4:06 | interior module here’s the slot for the
- 4:09 | micro SD card comes with a cover the

- 5:03 | cards with storage up to 512 gigs there
- 5:06 | is GPS in the power mount a dual bound

- 5:13 | battery and a convenient to use

- 6:21 | all good it’s really convenient to be
- 6:24 | able to adjust the angle and I remind

- 7:19 | any accidents because with Collision
- 7:21 | detection it’s usually too late whenever
- 7:24 | the camera starts recording speaking of
- 7:26 | configuration options I loved the
- 7:28 | controls a touch screen which is really
- 7:30 | nice for initial configuration but in
- 7:32 | most of the cases you’re going to find
- 7:34 | the good old hardware buttons a lot more
- 7:37 | useful for navigating through the menus
- 7:40 | options are really a lot there are a few
- 7:42 | video resolution choices it makes sense
- 7:45 | to adjust only if you plan to not use
- 7:47 | the rear module novatech s so’s are
- 7:50 | famous for being generous about config
- 7:52 | no different with the implementation on
- 7:53 | the X5 if you wonder whether the GPS is
- 7:56 | working just navigate here and get to
- 7:59 | see everything don’t forget that during
- 8:01 | the whole time touch operations are also
- 8:04 | supported with this dash camera as well
- 8:07 | if you feel that a smartphone app would
- 8:09 | be easier well it’s a generic one has
- 8:12 | good features but not on par with the
- 8:15 | user experience that Garmin or black
- 8:17 | view would offer dualband Wi-Fi hotspot
- 8:20 | is present which makes transferring
- 8:22 | files wirelessly really fast it’s good
- 8:25 | to mention that there also is a desktop
- 8:27 | software letting you review the files
- 8:29 | and also the included metadata in these
- 8:32 | viewing the footage on a big screen
- 8:34 | makes good sense especially about 4K
- 8:37 | footage sure these intensive bit rates
- 8:39 | are rather demanding about storage
- 8:42 | because you can’t use just any type of
- 8:44 | Micro SD card it’s necessary to have u3
- 8:46 | compliance in order to avoid
- 8:48 | complications audio test of the X5 and
- 8:51 | this is how the microphone performs
- 8:53 | speed is about close to 80 km/ hour
- 8:58 | that’s the quality of the microphone and
- 9:00 | if you wonder why my face is in the
- 9:02 | darker part of the footage uh and and
- 9:05 | here we have this light spotted just
- 9:08 | because of the angle of the sunshine
- 9:10 | right

- 9:18 | as a starter I’m not happy with the
- 9:20 | thickness of the USB cable also the
- 9:22 | quality of the smartphone app and the
- 9:25 | fact that the parking mode doesn’t
- 9:27 | support motion detection there’s no
- 9:29 | addas support
- 9:31 | either still nothing that is a true deal
- 9:34 | breaker quite the opposite I’m really
- 9:36 | happy with the overall performance of X5
- 9:40 | by wolfbox uh there are two topics I
- 9:43 | can’t really discuss at the moment uh
- 9:45 | the first one being the longevity of the
- 9:47 | product cuz it’s too early to say
- 9:49 | apparently maybe you can check the

- 9:55 | based on the experience with their first
- 9:57 | model the first dash camera disg as a
- 9:59 | rear view mirror we have really high
- 10:02 | expectations as for the temperature
- 10:05 | handling it’s utn already so
- 10:08 | temperatures are a bit lower than what
- 10:10 | it used to be in the summer I can’t
- 10:12 | quite say how it performs when it’s
- 10:14 | extremely hot but given the fact there’s
- 10:16 | no inbuilt battery and there’s a super
- 10:18 | capacitor instead I would say the X5 is
- 10:21 | safe to use in areas with really
- 10:23 | extremely warm or hot climate conditions
